Trusted by owners and buyers alike for the last 8 years. I have sold approximately 50 boats, some big, some small, some fast some slow. Whatever you are looking for I am always happy to help find the right boat for you. As an owner looking for a trusted partner in selling your boat my track record speaks for itself.
Buying a boat is not all that complicated, find the right boat for your needs is.
The boat buying process goes like this.
Decide you want to buy a boat, what will you use it for? Do you want to go sailing? Racing? Cruising to the beach with the kids, or plan to sail off over the horizon some day? Or are you the power boat type (we love power boats too) Every boat has its niche, you just need to figure out what you want the boat to add to your lifestyle, after all boating is a lifestyle choice.
Once you know what type of boat you want, time to find the right boat. Check out Facebook and all the brokers around town. We are happy to help advise on the buy side and will charge a 3% buyers commission if you want us to initiate the search.
So you found a boat you like. Next step is to go for a viewing.
You like the boat that you just saw, next step is to get someone with a lot of knowledge to have a second viewing, someone like me or a professional survey guy or just someone who knows what to look for in a good boat, and more importantly any defects to run away from. You can always skip this step by having the expert come along for the first viewing.
You like the boat and want to buy it. You make an offer. Offer is accepted.
Once the offer is accepted a sales contract is signed, stipulating the terms and conditions of the sale. (Contracts are subject to successful SEA TRIAL & SURVEY (Owners may offer a informal ‘quick cruise prior to signing a contract, for bigger boat usually no)
10% deposit is paid > proceed to Sea Trial
Sea Trial is successful and you want to do SURVEY (Always do a survey), Survey is conducted AT YOUR COST. Survey is conducted by an independent trusted surveyor.
Survey is successful > balance of payment is made before ownership documentation is processed/transfered.
Boat documents are transferred to you or your company. (Many boats are held by Companies for tax and liability purposes)
You do not need to hold a PVOL to own a boat, you do need a PVOL to operate a boat
If you are new to boating we recommend doing some courses in safe boat handling, and if you buy a sailboat, learning to sail.
SUMMER is coming, get ready to enjoy the waters of HK, one of the best things you can do on the weekends.
