COA Mirs Bay Rally 2017

The weekend kicked off with an excellent braai at Hebe Haven — lamb on the spit, boerewors and craft beer. Saturday morning brought a glorious blue sky and a light easterly for the pursuit-start rally up to Mirs Bay.

Malarky's Genoa was in the shop for repairs, so we retired from the race and motored up to Long Harbour instead. The point of the trip was never really the race.

We anchored at Ko Lo Wan ahead of the evening's organised seafood dinner — a HK$200-a-head feast that was an absolute bargain. We slept on deck under the stars until the wind dropped around 3am and the mosquitoes invaded.

The trip home in a strengthening northeasterly was rough enough that we ran main and mizzen for stability. We were both glad to see the flat water of Outer Port Shelter.

週末以白沙灣精彩的烤肉揭開序幕——烤羊、南非香腸及精釀啤酒。週六清晨藍天白雲，微東風，追趕起步拉力賽北上大鵬灣。

Malarky 的 Genoa 在船廠維修，我們退出比賽改機航北上浪茄灣。比賽從來不是這趟旅程的重點。

我們在哥羅灣下錨，趕上晚間團體海鮮晚宴——每人 HK$200，絕對超值。我們在甲板上星空下入睡，直到凌晨3點風停、蚊子來襲。

返航時東北風增強，浪頗大，我們用主帆及後帆穩定船身。看到外港平靜水面時，我們都鬆了口氣。
